The Stonewall and District Lions Manor, a project of the Stonewall Lions Club, was first constructed in 1989. The original three story building was expanded in 1994, 2000, and again in 2017, to consist of a total of 194 suites: 78 one bedroom (approx. 822 sq ft) suites and 116 two bedroom (approx. 922 sq ft) suites. Each suite has been designed with a balcony or patio off the main living area that is an additional 60 sq. ft.
Keeping the tenants in mind the building was constructed with four main entranceways, each with its own elevator. The common areas include two large multi-purpose rooms with sunrooms, an exercise room and a library, as well as comfortable spaces for social gatherings and activities. Two outdoor courtyards with walking paths, seating areas and outdoor lighting are available for leisurely strolls and outdoor enjoyment in the summer. The Manor has a hair stylist who operates out of the building in a room designed for her use. Provincial Homecare was also provided office space in the building. Their client-care area includes a hospital bathtub, with a lift, which the Lions Manor purchased exclusively for tenant use. The South Interlake Seniors Resource Council also has office space onsite and provides a variety of services to the seniors in the Manor as well as in the community and surrounding area.
The Manor is run by a board of elected individuals from the local Lions Club. There are seven members of the club that make up this Board of Directors that meets monthly.
A general manager oversees the day to day operations of the building and he has six full time staff to assist him in assuring that the building standards are always being maintained.
